Rainbow Minds was inspired by memories that Brock Tyler has of his home planet. On this planet there were no elephants or monkeys, only synthesizers that sounded like elephants and monkeys; but since there were no elephants and monkeys for all he knew they just sounded like synthesizers. After coming to Earth he was delighted to find animals here that sounded like his synthesizers back home. At this discovery he felt what humans like to call "a sudden magical moment of inspired musical feelings" so he called up his human friend Tim and borrowed a terrestrial synthesizer that sounded pretty close to the synthesizers on his home planet which sounded a lot like elephants and monkeys here on Earth. And the rest, as they say, is history.
